Shabazz Muhammad Returns to Timberwolves

Shabazz Muhammad is returning to the Minnesota Timberwolves on a 1 year deal for the veteran’s minimum of $1.6 million. Muhammad was drafted by the Timberwolves in 2013. Muhammad was an unrestricted free agent after the 2016 season, and most expected him to leave the Wolves. However, it appears the market for Muhammad was much softer than he and his agent anticipated, leading to his return to the Wolves.

Muhammad’s return gives the Wolves another wing, which was their biggest position of need. Muhammad should provide the Wolves with scoring off the bench. Coming off the bench for the Wolves last year, Muhammad averaged 9.9 PPG on 48% shooting.
